The Supreme Court

Under the Judicial branch in the 3 branches of government there is the supreme court. The supreme court consists of 9 judges chosen by the president. They are the highest court in the U.S, and here they receive thousands of cases weekly that they must choose from. Each Justice receives the cases and them along with their team will read them and decide which ones to present to the other justices. Each case no matter who is making it, is treated and read through the same as any other. Weekly the Justices will meet with one another and decide which cases to take and which to not.
Once a case is taken each side has 30 minutes to present their case as well
as answer all the justice’s questions. Presenting in front of 9 judges is not a
common thing, so the person who is presenting has to be able to answer all
the judges' questions and keep several different trains of thought regarding each of the judges' questions about the case. Also, its a time for whom is arguing to either prove or change the judges thoughts on the case already. Oral presentation does make
After the case has been presented, later the judges will meet just them 9 and no one else to talk about the case. Then one will be chosen to explain the legal reasoning behind their opinion which is the opinion writing. The opinion writing is the longest part of the job. It takes about four weeks to complete the first draft which will be sent to the other judges to persuade them to agree with that justice. Any of the other justices are allowed to write their own on why they disagree with one's answer or agree with it but not the reasoning. After a decision has been made the final work will be sent to the press and within hours or minutes it will be posted and sent out to the people.
